Why We Need a Teacher in Kundalini Yoga: Guiding the Soul to Authenticity and Growth.

Updated: Jan 26

Why in Kundalini Yoga tradition, in this lineage, we require a teacher, a guide, who will lead us to our progression, to our spiritual development and growth, to expansion of our soul's light and to the depth of our authenticity?

Kundalini Yoga Teacher Trainings have been running across the Globe for the past 40 years.
Kundalini Yoga Teacher Trainings have been running across the Globe for the past 40 years.

It is because without discipline and helping hand of someone who have walked the path before us, who have stumbled upon similar blocks and resistances, someone who have grown through challenges and developed a new level of resilience, strength, and neutrality we cannot see the path in front of us. Without a teacher, we are as blind as newborn kittens, we have no sense of direction, we have no understanding of our capacities. We have no trust in our capabilities and very little faith in ourselves.

Without the teacher we will easily give up to worldly temptations, be defeated by changing circumstances and challenges that arise, will not persevere or perhaps persevere so hard that we exhaust ourselves before our time. What’s the most crippling is that we will forget our own divinity, God‘s light, creative expression of inner beauty and gifts and the personal power that we hold within.

The teacher holds a very special place for our Grace to develop. The teacher keeps us on the path making sure we’re don’t do any unnecessary movements, so our energy economised in perfect harmony to the needs that arise in our lives. The teacher is the one who will chisel away imperfections, subconscious patterns that are debilitating to our development and most importantly will confront our ego. Our ego supposed to be our helpful servant, not a master that it craves to be. Igor has many tricks to keep us sleeping to keep us believing in made up reality and sacrificing our dreams and expansion for the cheap very limited comfort zone. Comfort zone is not a zone where you feel comfortable comfort zone is the zone which is so familiar to you that you become so accustomed to you, forget you’re in it. it’s like water for the fish in which it swims. It’s like the air we breathe - we don’t notice it. We may not even notice when it polluted to the dangerous levels. So the teacher is there to awaken our awareness, to break the trance of non-reality, to rekindle the connection between our mind soul, and body and to deliver you to your full potential.

Testimonial 1: "I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for guiding me through this incredible journey of Kundalini teacher training. I’ve really enjoyed your humour and straight-talking nature; you’re a breath of fresh air! I’m already looking forward to a weekend with you in March."

Testimonial 2: "So sad to miss the last weekend with you guys! Equally so grateful for the entire course ... all your wisdom shared and to have met you! I also loved doing this last module in Scotland; it was so powerful and another unique experience on the path. 🦋💛 It’s been an incredible journey and one I will never forget! Now to go forth into the world and continue to share all of the teachings and offerings this incredible practice has to give! My students absolutely loved the Kundalini class I led on retreat yesterday 🦋, and I’m sure many will now continue to practise. Love, Light, and Gratitude. 🙏🏻"

Testimonial 3: "As usual with your classes, it was transformational. I had some super dark stuff and shadows come up and nightmares that night, things I now remember and had locked away subconsciously to do with abusive childhood. I'm astonished at how quickly I'm processing it all. Yesterday, I was already viewing it all in a neutral mind, waves of compassion with it all, and feeling my power. Thank you. 🙏💞"
